Miss Crystal has dedicated over 30 years to teaching dance and brings a wealth of experience in both performance and competition. As a young dancer, she toured the East Coast as a “Caravan Kid” with Hoctor’s Dance Caravan and trained extensively at STEPS on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center in New York City.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dance along with a Business Entrepreneur Certificate from the University of Iowa, where she performed in numerous works by undergraduate and graduate choreographers as well as faculty, including the annual Dance Gala.
For more than 20 years, Miss Crystal has taught all styles and levels of dance, working with students across Iowa, including at the University of Iowa Dance Forum. She is also a certified STOTT Pilates instructor, teaching both mat and reformer.
Her impact as an educator extends far beyond the studio. Miss Crystal has trained numerous students who have gone on to dance professionally in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and on cruise ships around the world. Many of her dancers have also continued their education as dance majors and collegiate dance team members at universities including the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, and more.
In addition to teaching, she has choreographed for local dance teams, county pageants, and community theater productions, earning national recognition for her innovative work, including multiple top choreography awards.
This marks Miss Crystal’s 20th season at TDS, where she proudly serves as Co-Director and Co-Owner and oversees the entire program. Outside of the studio, she and her husband founded the local nonprofit Batting For Kids, which supports children and families in the Davenport community. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, as well as cheering on her two children in all their activities.
With a passion for dance that started at just three years old, Savannah has dedicated her life to the art of movement. She spent four years dancing at Iowa State University, where she contributed to multiple state titles and a national championship. Her passion for dance extends beyond performance—teaching at TDS for the past four years, they love building strong relationships with students and their families each season.
One of Savannah's favorite moments each year is watching the students perform at recital and seeing the excitement on every dancer’s face. Creating a positive, inspiring environment where students can grow, connect, and share in the joy of dance is at the heart of their teaching philosophy.
The best part of being at TDS is that everyone is made to feel special—whether you're a student, a parent, or an instructor, you are always welcomed with open arms.
